Summer Program Instructor (Physiology)

The Post-Baccalaureate Program seeks an instructor to teach a physiology course in a distance-learning format for a five-week summer enrichment session. The instructor will provide an overview of key concepts of physiology (undergraduate level) for a class of 20-25 students. The enrichment course is non-credit bearing and independent of courses offered as part of the regular academic curriculum of the University. Instructor must be able to utilize and/or update course content from an established curriculum. Specific responsibilities include: develop and present course material in a manner that is inclusive for students from both science and non-science majors and encourages all students' participation; develop, administer and score pre/post-tests, class assignments and quizzes; return student work promptly with feedback; maintain student records (pre/post testing data, assignment and quiz grades) using MS Excel; submit course materials (syllabus, lessons, pre/post-tests, class assignments, quizzes, grading scales, answer sheets) and student grade reports to the Program Coordinator upon course conclusion. The instructor must have reliable wireless access to present the five-week course utilizing online and virtual resources such as Zoom, Webex, etc. Instructor will use good instructional design principles: course topics based on objectives, a variety of assessments based on learning objectives, and provide clear evaluation rubrics for assignments.
