Clinical Assistant Professor of Voice and Speech

UB Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor appointment in voice and speech. Primary responsibility is to teach vocal production, speech, text, dialects and accents for the stage, as well as provide support for the production season in the form of vocal, text and/or dialect coaching. Ability to work with stylized and period text is essential, and a secondary area in physical acting is preferred. In addition to instructing majors, the successful candidate will contribute to general education through delivery of a Performance Appreciation course and/or first-year seminar. Online teaching experience and knowledge of digital platforms available in the education industry, and must be equipped to provide consistent, timely, and effective feedback to students through digital channels. Our new colleague will play an instrumental role in departmental recruitment and outreach initiatives.
The Department of Theatre & Dance offers nine academic programs including BA, BFA, and MA/PhD in Theatre. We produce a full season of music theatre productions, dance concerts, and dramatic works with UB’s Center for the Arts and Katharine Cornell Theatre. The department is a hub for interdisciplinary arts activity within the university, intersecting with Music, Art, Media Study, Architecture, and Poetry among others. The department’s performance degrees offer in-depth curriculums with creative tracks that prepare students for a broad range of professional careers.
