["Represent the University as a Designated School Official (DSO) and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). Review and evaluate level 1 student requests (i.e. travel endorsement, program update and extension, employment update, among others) and ensure accuracy, completeness and eligibility according to F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations. Advise students and representatives of university departments on related regulations and procedures.", "Support the university’s international student population by serving as an advising assistant. Receive and respond to questions posed via e-mail and/or other forms of electronic communication. Refer complex cases to senior international student advisors, as needed.", "Assume primary responsibility for monitoring F-1 and J-1 student alerts in Sunapsis. Review and analyze system alerts for data integrity. Assist with the daily batch upload. Provide critical support for compliance related projects including, SEVIS registration, Shorten Program, as well as Leave of Absence and Reactivation.", "Support the J Exchange Visitor Program. Manage the initial DS-2019 issuance for student interns. Provide acceptance and pre-arrival information and respond to related questions from interns or departments. Review and assess J-1 student intern health insurance plans, provide in-person and electronic orientation, monitor evaluations and provide social programming opportunities.", "Provide planning and implementation support for new student orientation as well as social, cultural, and engagement programming that enhances integration to the UB community."]
