Job Summary

The Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining server-side code and integrating it with visual design. The person in this position will also be developing high quality PHP back-end code while implementing interface designs using cutting-edge web technologies. Our ideal candidate will work well in a team structure, be interesting enough to get our attention, and be interested enough to stay on top of what's possible as technology evolves.


  • Is able to deliver high-quality source code in the PHP language independently
  • Creates ad hoc MySQL queries for programs and metric reporting
  • Develops code in both text editor and visual development environments
  • Creates highly complex, customized applications to enhance website capability based on business needs
  • Researches, tracks and understands new Web technologies; makes recommendations for new policies and procedures to bring in-house
  • Learn and abide by the operating policies and procedures of iostudio
  • Represent iostudio in a professional manner with all client leadership, vendors and staff
  • Complete and submit daily time reports

  • Familiarity with typical software development life cycles and methodologies

  • Knowledge of the principles of advertising and marketing
  • Ability to take a concept from sketch or wireframe to final implementation

  • Analytical, organized and proactive attitude
  • Knowledge of PHP, CSS, CSS technologies (e.g. Sass, Compass) and HTML
  • Familiar with Symfony PHP framework and Doctrine ORM
  • Good working knowledge of HTML5 and JS technologies (e.g. jQuery, Ember.js)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and switch quickly and comfortably between projects as determined by supervisor, clients or other circumstances
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members and maintain positive morale and a sense of teamwork
  • Ability to qualify for a government security clearance – as required by government contract
  • Citizen of the United States of America – as required by government contract

Education and Experience

  • Web design or equivalent agency interactive design experience
  • 3–5+ years of software development experience ideal
