| The Career Exposure Network Helps Celebrate Take Our Daughters To Work® Day
April 2002--- On April 25, 2002, girls from around the country will celebrate an important birthday as Take Our Daughters To Work® Day turns ten. Millions of girls ages 9 to 15 will spend the day with their parents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and other mentors gaining a better understanding of the careers the world has to offer. Adults across the nation are creating solutions to the issues girls face - one daughter at a time. By participating in Take Our Daughters To Work® Day, adults help girls remain strong and focused on their futures. Workplace activities show girls they can be engineers, firefighters, web developers, financial analyst and CEOs. The Career Exposure Network encourages all our employers, recruiters and viewers to participate in this important event for today's young women who are tomorrow's Career Women. "As a women-owned business, we are dedicated to helping women achieve success in their careers and lives. Helping young women set goals, gain experience, create opportunities and find paths to fulfilling professional lives is vitally important." said Jan Donnelly, CEO and Co-founder, Career Exposure, Inc. "We encourage our member companies to participate in Take Our Daughters to Work® Day." As James E. Copeland, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte & Touche and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu remarked, "we've set aside this special day so that young women can begin to create their own vision of the future -- and to instill in them the confidence and realization that no career goal is out of their reach. We will need their talents to successfully meet future business challenges" The Career Exposure Network of sites offers a virtual version of Take Our Daughters to Work® Day. We encourage young women with their parent/mentor to virtually network with leading Career Women at our Up Close & Virtual® Interview sections. Throughout the sites, there is a wealth of career information , including this months interviews with some of today's top Career Women. These interviews will teach girls about real career women making an impact. Interviews are one of the best ways for girls to learn about what takes place within an organization. At Up Close & Virtual® Interviews girls can read about inspirational role models, giving them the opportunity to learn, straight from the source, what skills it takes to be a working woman. The first Take Our Daughters To Work® Day was created in 1993 as a national intervention to help girls stay healthy and strong through adolescencea crucial time for girls to focus on their futures. Drawing on research showing that adult encouragement can change the course of a girl's life, the program gives girls the opportunity to see the wide range of life and career options open to them.
